Supply Chain Manager-Fairfield, NJ Facility

Virtex is hiring a Senior Supply Chain Manager that establishes and implements a vision of supply chain excellence. Manages activities of personnel engaged in purchasing and distributing materials, equipment, and supplies in an organization by performing the following Essential Duties and Responsibilities; Other duties may be assigned:

Job Description
  • Manage all aspects of the Material Procurement functions including supervision and coaching of department personnel.
  • Builds partnerships with suppliers aimed at improving vendor performance.
  • Search, locate and approve new vendors, wherever applicable, with support from Quality and Engineering.
  • Quote, negotiate, and secure orders of materials to support production and other internal requirements.
  • Maintain and continually improve supply chain processes, documentation, and applicable records.
  • Responsible to represent material procurement in contract review & approval.
  • Participate in internal and vendor audits.

  • Determine make/buy decisions.

  • Record and approve daily time and attendance for purchasing personnel and inventory personnel.
  • Actively participate in activities/meetings with function leaders.
  • Submit supply chain function performance reports as requested by management and corporate.
  • Work closely with Engineering Development team during development and NPI to assure timely purchase of materials for development and launch/ramp of product.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field; 7-10 years related experience.
  • Experience in managing material procurement in at least 7-10 years.
  • Experience and knowledge of working with defense contractors and government business is preferred.
  • MS Office and ERP/MRP proficiency and understanding preferably Macola or Syteline.

To support the operations of the stock room by providing data entry, including job material input and material maintenance.

Job Description
  • Performs computer transactions for production material on specific jobs as well as other additional computer transactions.
  • Perform counts with extreme accuracy, keeps accurate and detailed records.
  • Pull components from inventory in accordance with the pick list when Virtex has purchased parts.
  • Stock material received from receiving inspection into inventory, remove material from inventory to fill customer orders according to bill of material/pick list.
  • Verify component value, type, etc., to assure parts meet customer job requirements.
  • Verify quantity required to complete a kit to assure quantities meet customer job requirements.
  • Record any discrepancies, shortages, or questions regarding the kit on shortage sheets to assure that all parts are available, and questions are answered for manufacturing and notify supervisor or manager of major discrepancies/issues.
  • Bake boards as necessary per customer requirements.

LINE OPERATOR - POST SOLDER - Minnesota Facility

To add components, wires, epoxy, hardware, and modifications to circuit boards and assemble circuit boards into final assemblies per customer requirements.

Job Description
  • Must read and understand technical documents such as customer blueprints, standard operating procedures, and other related documents.
  • Add components, wires, epoxy, and hardware to circuit boards using equipment and tools as required such as tweezers, pliers, cutters, solder iron, magnifying light and/or microscope.
  • Hand wash areas of the board where sensitive components have been hand soldered.
  • Add modifications called out in documents to ensure the board is built to the revision stated in the job folder.
  • Install circuit board into final assembly if required by the job folder.
  • Maintain daily times worked on specific jobs by scanning in/out of computer and/or keeping daily timesheets when requested. Performs other record keeping as required by department.
  • Work independently while maintaining high quality and concentration.
  • Perform the same steps repeatedly throughout the day with minimal errors.
  • Contributes to maintaining a safe work environment by following safety policies and procedures, reporting any safety concerns, and participating in any scheduled stretch breaks.
  • Actively participates in quality efforts and support the Virtex Quality Policy through accountable action.
  • Responsible for compliance to the Virtex Quality Management System and other regulatory and statutory requirements as required by the customer.
  • Act as an authorized agent to stop production when nonconformances are noted.
  • Accountable for accepting responsibility for continuous on the job training by actively participating in training put on by designated Virtex employees and/or any outside service.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or 3-6 months related work experience.
  • Soldering experience, IPC or JSTD certification, and/or electronics assembly experience preferred.
  • Basic PC skills.
  • Experience with Microscope SMT parts and small gauge wiring.
  • Due to ITAR Restrictions, US Citizenship or green card is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively as a team player.
  • Ability to read and understand technical documents such as standard operation procedures and other related documents.
  • Good hand/eye coordination and ability to work with small or large components.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull 10 to 45 pounds.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Must have good eyesight, as well as the ability to adjust focus and differentiate between colors.
  • Flexibility to work extra hours when needed, including weekends.
